The hardest part about being proficient at something is starting back with the basics. Once the passion or interest is gone, going to the fondation feels the most heaviest burden and the biggest obstruction to either a eurika moment or your usual rhythm.
You know, while it doesn’t sound so bad on paper, it feels gripping to be in the situation. You’re at a crossroad of being too good to go back and too bad to move forward. Life and profession feels like a wheel going round and round, and while you hope it would be the kind of wheel in a car, we realize we’re more situated closer to the hamster’s.
But it doesn’t have to be that way, you stick to your routine and keep asking where would the “Aha!” moment come back? You miss the thrill of the pressure, the spurt of adrenaline, the rush of energy and feeling alive and with purpose once more. But if you back to the roots and find the problem, the keyword would probably be “routine.”
Familiarity Breeds Contempt
When we’re too familiar with our habits we come to a concoction of comfort and disdain at the same time. Something inside us screams at one point moving out to something different yet find our comfort too cherishing us with open arms.
You’re probably expecting a cliche answer to this dilemma, and yes it is cliche. But an active reminder is a different approach from stock knowledge. If you’re tired of your life just as I am:
Do something different
Do someting risky, stupid or brilliant and all at the same time. This is a letter telling you that life in routine gets boring, and you have the ability to change it. But to do it, you have to be comfortable in being uncomfortable. You don’t have to be ready for anything, all you have to be is to be open to new experiences.
So to end of this message, go ask yourself: What’s your challenge?
